Erin Cranor

Erin joined the Office of General Counsel in 2022. She studied human developmental biology at Brigham Young University and received bachelor’s and master’s degrees in zoology in 1994 and 1995. After a part-time career in development and consulting for youth development nonprofit organizations and public service in K-12 education governance, she returned to BYU on a religious freedom fellowship. She received a J.D., cum laude, from the J. Reuben Clark Law School, where she served as co-editor of the BYU Education & Law Journal, and a master of education degree in educational leadership from the David O. McKay School of Education. Prior to joining the Office of General Counsel, Erin practiced in data privacy, international business, and religious freedom with Kirton McConkie. Erin is licensed to practice law in Utah, Nevada, and Idaho.
